Vienna Roast Panama Boquete (Panamaria Casa Ruiz Estate)
This coffee has chocolate and ripe red berry fruit tones with a velvety smooth finish. The Vienna name implies that the coffee emulates a particular roasting style that has historically been the norm in Vienna, Austria. The coffee is shade grown by the Casa Ruiz family in the Boquete region in Northern Panama, right along the border with Costa Rica. It is the lightest coffee in our dark roast line. By carefully roasting this coffee on the lighter side of the dark spectrum, we are able to preserve the wonderful fruit tones that add to this coffee's complexity. Casa Ruiz also produces the award winning La Berlina that we periodically offer as a Limited Edition. Casa Ruiz has a cafˇ at their farm, so next time you are in Boquete stop by for a cup at the source. You can arrange a visit to the farm on their
website.

We carefully roast and blend this coffee to bring out the finest qualities of espresso coffee--sweet caramel, chocolate, spice and hints of dried fruit. When properly extracted it yields spectacular crema and a long smooth finish. To attain this perfection, we source coffees that are naturally very low in acidity and extraordinarily high in body. When the otherwise subtle and delicate flavors of these coffees are concentrated through the high pressure extraction of an espresso machine the qualities are magnified to an essential level. Our proprietary blend includes aged and conditioned coffees from Asia and South America.

Hawaiian Kauai Estate Reserve - This coffee possesses a syrupy smooth body with a hint of nutmeg and a very refined finish. From the volcanic earth of Koloa on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, the Kauai Estate Reserve is grown on some of the oldest coffee trees standing in the Americas. They currently have 3,400 acres under cultivation on the southwest side of the island. This farm represents the largest of all coffee farms on the Hawaiian Islands. Kauai Coffee is one of the few truly American grown and processed coffees and it is 100% certified by the State of Hawaii's Department of Agriculture as to both grade and origin. Each of their coffees are painstakingly cared for and prepared and we find an almost unparalleled consistency in the cup from crop to crop. We have purchased coffee direct from the Kauai Coffee Company since 1998. Absolutely no pesticides are used on the farm. Eighty percent of the estate is devoted to land conservation and their environmentally enlightened agricultural practices include drip irrigation and mulching of the by-products of their processing (specifically cherry and pruning mulch). Kauai Coffee has a well-established farm tour program. If you are heading to Kauai, don?t miss an opportunity to visit their farm. To make arrangements, either visit their
website or call the Kauai Coffee Visitor Center at 808-335-0813. You can also take a
virtual tour of the farm.
