Ethiopia is referred to as the birthplace of coffee. Coffee trees are native to Ethiopia and coffee grows wild throughout the country. Ethiopia has an incredibly broad diversity of coffee growing regions, of which Harrar, Sidamo and Djimmah are the best known. Yirgacheffe is from within the Sidamo region and remains our favorite year in and out. Great Yirgacheffes like this one posess an unparallelled fruitiness. This quality combined with a soft, light body makes us think of a coffee with almost tea like characteristics.
