Compact and racy, yet sublime. Sweet-tart flavors of orange, tamarind, rose hips, spicy nutmeg and creme brulee. Beautifully put together. This mouthwateringly good coffee has been brought to light and carefully prepared by Joseph Brodsky and the Ninety Plus Coffee Crew. As this coffee hails from the Nekempte region, it remains outside the jurisdiction of the Ethiopian Coffee Exchange and is currently one of the few Ethiopian coffees in existence that maintains its direct farm lineage. One of the critical aspects of preparation that accentuates the profound fruit qualities in this coffee is its method of preparation. The Tuktant has been naturally processed without any water. The coffee cherry is dried in the sun on elevated tables and the coffee seeds are extracted after the cherry has dried. After drying, the Tuktant is sealed in Grain-Pro barrier packaging and then sent on its way to our Roastery where we preserve the green coffee under hermetic seal until it is roasted. This coffee is a part of the
Barrington Green Seal Program© which preserves the vibrancy of the green coffee by storing it in an hermetically sealed environment before roasting.
